Q: What is Abdominal Therapy? A: Also known as Mayan Abdominal Massage, Abdominal Therapy focuses on improving the health of the digestive and reproductive organs by addressing stagnation and restoring balance. It is beneficial for fertility, menstrual health, postpartum recovery, and more. You can read more here.

Q: Who can benefit from Abdominal Therapy? A: This therapy is ideal for individuals experiencing painful periods, PCOS, endometriosis, pelvic pain, fertility challenges, or postpartum recovery. It is also effective for digestive issues like constipation and acid reflux.

Q: When can I start Abdominal Therapy postpartum? A: Abdominal Therapy can begin 6 weeks after a vaginal birth or 12 weeks after a cesarean birth. For cesarean recovery, scar tissue work is incorporated.

Prenatal Massage

Q: Is prenatal massage safe? A: Yes, prenatal massage is safe and highly beneficial when performed by a trained professional. It helps reduce stress, relieve back and hip pain, and improve sleep.

Q: At what stage of pregnancy can I start prenatal massage? A: Prenatal massage can be safely performed during the first trimester, avoiding the low back and abdomen, as long as the woman does not have any current fertility conditions.

Q: Do you offer specialized positioning for prenatal massage? A: Yes, we use supportive cushions for face down and side-lying positioning to ensure comfort and safety for both you and your baby.

Q: How long can I lay facedown during the massage before having to turn on my side? A: You can lay down on your belly in our pregnancy safe cushioning until 20-25 weeks, depending on your comfort. After 25 weeks, laying on your belly (despite proper cushioning) can cause strain on the round ligament connected to your uterus, which can lead to mild back pain. It is not dangerous for your body or your body, but it can cause discomfort after the massage, despite is feeling good in the moment.

Postpartum Massage

Q: How does postpartum massage help with recovery? A: Postpartum massage supports healing by reducing muscle tension, improving circulation, and addressing postpartum symptoms like back pain, stress, and fatigue.

Q: When can I start postpartum massage? A: Postpartum massage can be done as early as 24 hours after giving birth. Due to possible circulatory issues, light pressure is used on the legs, but firmer pressure can be applied to the upper body. A light-to-medium abdominal massage can also be performed to encourage the uterus to shrink. For cesarean births, massage can begin as soon as the mother has been cleared to be home, but the abdomen will be avoided until the external scar is fully healed, typically at 6 weeks. She can lie on her back or side to accommodate the c-section scar.

Q: Do you offer scar tissue work for cesarean recovery? A: Yes, our postpartum massage includes gentle scar tissue work to promote healing and improve mobility.

Q: Can I bring my baby to the appointment? A: Yes, baby I welcome to come with you to your appointment.

Therapeutic Massage

Q: What is therapeutic massage? A: Therapeutic massage targets specific areas of tension or pain, combining various techniques to relieve discomfort, improve mobility, and support overall well-being.

Q: How is therapeutic massage different from relaxation massage? A: While relaxation massage focuses on general stress relief, therapeutic massage addresses specific issues such as chronic pain, injuries, or muscle imbalances.

Q: Can I combine therapeutic massage with other treatments? A: Yes, therapeutic massage can be customized to complement other treatments, including Abdominal Therapy or postpartum care, for a holistic approach.

Q: Do you offer massage for dads? A: Absolutely! While we specialize in prenatal and postpartum care, our therapeutic massages are available to everyone, including dads. We aim to support the whole family’s wellness journey.
